About this Event

This online class is divided into 5 Sessions that are a mixture of instruction, simulation, interactive exercises, with pragmatic advice that will help gain practical knowledge of how Kanban works in a Team environment.

During this interactive class, you will learn:

  • the principles, core practices, and metrics of the Kanban Method
  • to understand the ‘pull’ system and how to deliver work
  • how you can build your Kanban proficiency and apply the practices in your day-to-day work
  • the basics of visualizing different types of work and their associated risk
  • how to apply WIP limits to reduce stress and overburdening
  • how to conduct a Team Kanban meeting and retrospective
  • how to proceed to the next level with Kanban

There are individual and group exercises that reinforce key Kanban learnings, and also a group simulation to that provides an immersive learning opportunity to understand the benefits of the Kanban Method.

 

Prerequisites:

All experience levels are welcome. No previous Kanban training or experience is required.

Certified Training:

Students will receive the Team Kanban Practitioner® (TKP) certificate from Kanban University® upon completion.

 

Karen Ruby is the first woman in Canada to become a Kanban University Accredited Kanban Trainer. With this designation, she is able to bring her extensive knowledge, gained over 20 years in the IT Industry, to train and coach students who want to learn and enhance their knowledge about Kanban. Being a Kanban Trainer, Coach, and Practitioner, she brings different perspectives to assess and help individuals, teams and organizations to succeed.
